Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Gateway. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Gateway.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create or use a Gateway account. You must provide accurate registration information and may not misrepresent your age, identity, or authority to use an account.

3. Accounts and security

• Keep your password confidential and use a unique password.
• Use only your own account unless Gateway expressly authorizes another role.
• Notify Gateway through support if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Keep your email and permitted profile information current.

Gateway may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, or maintain the service.

4. Launch services and pricing

The launch service includes a non-expiring Free tier with the limits displayed on the pricing page. Gateway does not require payment information for Free accounts.

Plus, Family, school, billing, and other paid capabilities are not available unless Gateway explicitly enables checkout and presents the applicable price and terms. Seeing a planned price does not mean that a feature is available for purchase.

5. Educational information and decisions

Gateway is an informational planning tool. It is not a school, admissions office, financial adviser, legal adviser, or guarantee of admission, aid, graduation, employment, or earnings.

Institution information may come from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard and other identified sources. Data can be delayed, incomplete, revised, or different from information published by a college. Verify deadlines, costs, aid, program details, accreditation, and admission requirements directly with the relevant institution before making a decision.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of information and documents you submit. You give Gateway a limited permission to host, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service.

You are responsible for having the right to upload your content. Do not upload malware, unlawful material, another person's confidential information, or sensitive information that is unnecessary for college planning.

7. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Access another user's account, records, messages, or documents.
• Attempt to bypass age, permission, rate-limit, or security controls.
• Use Gateway to harass, deceive, exploit, or harm another person.
• Introduce malicious code or interfere with service availability.
• Scrape or redistribute protected service content at unreasonable scale.
• Use Gateway in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

8. Third-party services and links

Gateway relies on third-party infrastructure and may link to college, government, or other external websites. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and policies. Gateway is not responsible for external sites that it does not control.

9. Availability and changes

Gateway is an evolving service. We may correct data, change limits, remove unsafe or unfinished features, perform maintenance, or discontinue functionality. We will not knowingly charge for a paid feature without presenting the applicable checkout and terms.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Gateway is provided on an "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gateway is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses resulting from use of the service or reliance on third-party educational information.

11. Account termination and deletion

You may request account deletion through support. Gateway may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, fail the age requirement, threaten service security, or create legal risk. Information is handled after termination as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as Gateway changes. Material updates will be posted with a revised date and, when appropriate, communicated to account holders. Submit questions through Gateway's support page.
